According to ISO 56002, “An organization’s ability to innovate is recognized as a key factor for sustained growth, economic viability, increased well-being, and the development of society.” Innovation becomes more complex and difficult to achieve by organizations in a global and rapidly changing environment. Innovation can be managed more effectively and efficiently using a systems approach. ISO 56002, “Innovation Management Systems—Guidance” allows the organization to determine its innovation vision, strategy, policy, and objectives, and to establish the support and processes, culture and collaboration needed to achieve the intended outcomes. In this session, the presenter offers an overview of ISO 56002, how it was developed, its foundational principles, key attributes, and main features.
