Presenter: Tom Taormina
With the 2015 revision of ISO 9001, ISO/TC 176 essentially threw a hand grenade over the transom to the quality community. They replaced the soothing and nurturing requirement for preventive action with a new term, “risk-based thinking.” Not only do we not connect quality metrics to business success, there is nothing specific in classic quality management that has a direct correlation to risk abatement. This presentation will give quality professionals a new perspective of “risk” based on the author’s 40+ years in quality management and nearly 20 years as an expert witness in products liability.
