A new ISO standard that aims to ensure learners receive the level of quality that they expect has now reached Draft International Standard (DIS) stage.
ISO 21001, Educational organizations – Management systems for educational organizations – Requirements with guidance for use, is a management system standard partially aligned with ISO 9001:2015 for quality management systems.
The standard provides a common management tool for educational organizations to improve their processes and address the needs and expectations of those who use their services.
ISO 21001 is intended for use by a variety of educational providers, from kindergarten to higher education, vocational training centers, and e-learning services.
The future standard will also help educational providers effectively align their activities with their mission and vision and offer more personalized learning. This benefits not only learners, but—thanks to improved processes and a system in place for their improvement across time—educators, parents, and other stakeholders will also reap results from more consistent outputs.
ISO 21001 has now reached DIS stage. Interested parties can submit feedback on the draft, which will be considered before the standard is published early next year. Comments on the draft can be submitted by contacting your national ISO member. The ISO 21001 DIS can be purchased from ISO members or through the ISO Store.
