Next week ASQ CEO William Troy will speak at the Excellence Summit in Gothenburg, Sweden, to share how the same principles and tools that produce an effective military culture can be applied to organizations seeking a successful culture of quality.
Troy, a retired three-star general of the United States Army, believes that an organization’s values must serve as the foundation on which lasting quality cultures are built and that shaping culture is about shaping human behavior.
In his presentation, Troy will explore the model used by the military to create its culture and extract lessons that can be applied to organizations seeking to build a quality culture.
“Militaries all over the world are remarkably effective in building cultures that reflect their values,” Troy said.
“Organizations that value excellence can build a similarly strong and effective culture that is responsive to the needs of customers, cognizant of risks, and continually improving.”
Troy joins other ASQ members speaking at the event, including ASQ board of directors Chair Elmer Corbin. Corbin, a global delivery excellence executive for the IBM Watson Health, will speak on transforming digital business with cognitive technologies.
The inaugural Excellence Summit, which provides attendees access to some of the most influential voices in quality, will begin on September 11.
