It is inherently difficult to predict what the future will bring in any industry or profession, and management system auditing is no different. New methods for conducting audits and new ways to learn throughout one’s lifetime have already had enormous consequences for auditors—and these trends are only exacerbated by the realities of continual economic and political upheavals, not to mention global pandemics and climate crises. The challenges to auditor relevance are real; now the question becomes, ‘What can be done about it?’
The first step is to read, watch, and interact with well-respected voices who, while they may not have all the answers, are at least asking the right questions about what the future of auditing may look like.
To that end, Exemplar Global’s Future of Auditing Expo is offering a special virtual roundtable later this month. In this segment, we will be joined by three great panelists discussing the changing face of auditing from the perspectives of training, technology, and strategic career development, to name just a few broad topical areas that we will dive into. This is sure to be a lively discussion, and we will include ample time for our panelists to address your questions live.
Our speakers have varied backgrounds and quite different points of view. They are:
- Jackie Stapleton, Director, Auditor Training Online
- Greg Hutchins, Founder, CERM Academy
- Bud Weightman, President, Qualified Specialists LLC
Jackie, Greg, and Bud will challenge each other’s assumptions, and they are sure to challenge moderator Mike Richman, too. We hope you’ll join us to challenge them in turn.
The “What is the Future of Auditing?” session takes place live on Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. (New York)/Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 8 a.m. (Sydney). A recording will be made available to anyone who wants to watch (or re-watch) it on demand.
