A process-based management system defines the key processes established within the organization. Using rigorous process analysis, a management system is developed that has low implementation costs and is documented only to the extent necessary for control. Users improve the resulting system to add value and reduce costs while conforming to the chosen ISO standard or to any combination of management system standards. The barriers to ISO standards implementation can be overcome through systematic implementation by identifying key processes, working with process owners to analyze key processes, designing new key processes, simplifying documentation, and using and continually improving the system.
