In direct response to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) members’ responses to a recent survey revealing continued uncertainties about organizational travel budgets and personal health and safety, ANSI has decided to take a unique approach to World Standards Week 2021, splitting the events across fall 2021 and spring 2022 to ensure safe and engaging events amid COVID-19.
- World Standards Week 2021 events will be held virtually Oct. 25–29, 2021. When possible, they will include greater use of video, virtual networking rooms, and more two-way dialogue between presenters and attendees to foster engagement.
- The larger, celebratory events originally scheduled for World Standards Week 2021 will take place in-person May 17–20, 2022. These events include the ANSI Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony honoring the 2020–2021 awardees, an issue-focused conference, and the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day with the theme, “Standards for Sustainable Development Goals.”
