November 10 will mark World Quality Day, with this year’s theme “Making Operational Governance Count.”
World Quality Day presents a valuable opportunity to start a conversation about quality and the value it adds to business. The day can support individual personal development, and help build relationships within organizations.
This year’s theme addresses corporate governance, which can reduce the risk of failure in products, services, and processes. As a result, quality professionals are equipped to provide the assurance and insight required to protect organizations through the business management system.
By improving the link between corporate governance and operational governance systems, organizations can use the business management system to make improvements and better understand their business.
The theme links to the recent launch of the 2016 Good Governance Report. The report from The Chartered Quality Institute and the Institute of Directors aims to encourage organizations to embrace operational governance, assurance and improvement, and promote this view in their organizations. The report assesses companies by combining traditional governance indicators with a measure of the quality of corporate governance as perceived by investors and business leaders.
