The International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation has published ILAC G27—Guidance on measurements performed as part of an inspection process.
The document provides guidance for inspection bodies and the accreditation bodies assessing inspection bodies on measurements carried out as part of an inspection activity.
The key objective of the guidance document is to ensure the validity of the measurements performed as part of inspections carried out in accordance with ISO/IEC 17020. ILAC G27 also provides examples via case studies of measurements carried out in inspection, which notes that measurements that satisfy the requirements included in ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 15189 would also satisfy ISO/IEC 17020.
The publication intends to provide recommendations only and does not place any new requirements over and above those stipulated in ISO/IEC 17020 (G27 section 1.1).
