The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has launched the ISO Standardization Foresight Framework – Trend Report 2022 to help the ISO community navigate the key global trends facing the industry.

There is no denying that the world around us is changing and the pace of change is faster than ever before. To enable industry members and professionals to keep up with the rapid pace of change and plan for the future, the Standardization Foresight Framework looks systematically at the long-term trends that lie ahead. Additionally, it encourages discussion and exchange about future opportunities for International Standardization.

The trend report is the output of the first phase of the Standardization Foresight Framework: environmental scanning. It also expands upon the drivers of change identified in the ISO Strategy 2030, breaking them down into smaller trends and analyzing their links to existing ISO work.

The ultimate aim of the report is to enable ISO to better understand the context in which it operates, so that the organization can effectively meet emerging-market needs and help shape a more sustainable future.
