Ever wonder how effective your ISO 9001 certification program is? Your certification body continues to audit you so that you can maintain that ISO 9001 certification that your customers require, but how effective is the overall certification process?

To improve the oversight and effectiveness of the third-party certification process, a new program for the assessment of accreditation bodies and certification bodies, called the Third-Party Effectiveness Verification Program or 3P-EVP was developed. The program is the result of a three-year effort by QuEST Forum called the Validation Audit Project to collect objective information for evaluation due to feedback that some certified organizations in the telecom or ICT supply chain didn’t perform as expected.

The 3P-EVP became effective January 2016 and was featured as a case study in the UNIDO Good Practices: Experience in the market surveillance of ISO 9001 quality management systems publication.
