In celebration of World Standards Day, SES — The Society for Standards Professionals—and the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day Planning Committee are co-sponsoring an annual paper competition for individuals in the U.S. standards community.
The competition is open to individuals in the private sector, government, or academia—including employees of standards developing organizations—who reside in the U.S. Co-authorship is permitted.
Authors may choose to address the 2017 World Standards Day theme “Smart Health: Using Intelligent Systems to Improve the Quality and Delivery of Health Care in a More Integrated, Focused Approach” or another topic of their choice that is U.S.-centric or international in scope.
Submissions, along with an official entry form, must be sent to the SES Executive Director at admin@ses-standards.org by midnight August 11.
The three best papers will be awarded cash prizes. First place will receive a $2,500 and a plaque, while second and third place will be awarded $1,000 and $500, respectively, along with a certificate. In addition, the winning papers will be published in the SES journal, Standards Engineering.
Winners of the 2017 paper competition will be announced at the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C. on October 19.
