The Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) have announced the publication of IPC-1754, Materials and Substances Declaration for Aerospace and Defense and Other Industries.
This new, voluntary standard will support the aerospace and defense industry’s ability to comply with complex chemical regulations such as the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.
IPC-1754 identifies the data elements and electronic data transfer protocols for reporting product-related chemical information—including chemicals contained in hardware products—to be used in the materials and substances declaration process.
The new standard also provides the basis for standardized product chemical reporting through the global aerospace and defense industry supply chain. IPC-1754 also may be used by other industries to conduct their materials and substances declaration activities.
The use of IPC-1754 is supported by IAEG for the aerospace and defense industry, by providing declaration information, documentation and training.
