The final technical changes have been made to the second draft of voluntary occupational health and safety management system standard, ISO 45001.
ISO/PC 283, the project committee for developing ISO 45001, met in Melaka, Malaysia, in late September to make the changes.
Following this meeting, the ISO Central Secretariat will now determine whether the standard can be published, or if a Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) is required. If an FDIS is needed, ISO 45001 could be published in March 2018 at the earliest.
ISO/PC 283 Member, Steve Williams, said, “During our meeting in Malaysia, we clarified a number of terms within the standard and addressed the significant issues that had been raised.”
