Auditor Training Centre Acquired by PwC

Leading assurance, advisory, and tax services firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has acquired Queensland, Australia-based, Exemplar Global certified training provider Auditor Training Centre.

Andrew Barham started the company along with partner Carrie Jones back in 1993 and together they have grown Auditor Training Centre to become the largest independent auditor training provider in Australia. Specializing in quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and food safety training, Auditor Training Centre runs training in every major Australian city and in New Zealand.

PwC Australia Partner Peter Buchholz said their business relationship with Auditor Training Centre grew after they engaged Auditor Training Centre to provide their in-house ISO training in December 2014.

“We recognized early there was a great cultural fit with the Auditor Training Centre and a desire to provide excellent service to our clients and help them reach their true potential,” PwC Australia Partner Peter Buchholz said.

Many of PwC’s clients are seeking a wider assurance offering from the firm outside of the traditional financial assurance service.

“Clients want to demonstrate they are providing a service in compliance with ISO standards to their key stakeholders,” Buchholz said. “The Auditor Training Centre team will assist PwC in bringing great people to solve our clients’ most challenging needs.”

The acquisition of Auditor Training Centre will broaden PwC’s skill set and service offering.

“PwC has long been recognized as a fantastic training ground for people passionate about finance and industry,” Buchholz said. “Working with the team from Auditor Training Centre will provide a platform for PwC to engage more closely with our clients in meeting their needs in regard to ISO standards.”

The Auditor Training Centre will now be known as PwC Auditor Training & Certification and will operate with the same staff with Andrew and Carrie heading up the team. The company promises to offer the same training and high level of service for which they are known.

“All of the staff have come across, and we will offer the same training material,” Auditor Training Centre Director of Training Andrew Barham said. “PwC will be able to do what we haven’t been able to—essentially resource and grow the business. We will have better access into large corporations and have dedicated training rooms.”

PwC currently provides certification services through PwC Canada, which provides ISO certification services throughout the Americas, with the organization in the process of building that service offering in Australasia.

“Our global clients look for PwC to provide assurance and trust to their key stakeholders, and we see ISO standards as a logical extension of that service offering,” Buchholz said. “We are very excited about the opportunities in this sector and the value the PwC brand can bring to our clients.”
